29/11/2004 - The bins went, the GIB arrived, the plumbing gets connected ready for Wednesdays inspection, We need more GAP7 (which is actually SAP7 apparently, as SAP is the scoria version of graded chip) anyway, I need 2 more meters and we can only get 1 meter at a time on the truck so it'll be a slow haul in the 'rush hour' traffic to do this...
The guys put up the weatherboards on the ensuite walls as well as starting the beams in the office ceiling to hold things up where the fireplace was.
The sparkies should come and finish off today, and, after celebrating dads birthday with a nice dinner, I was up throwing in the rest of the noise batts. Unfortunately we'd missed Gerald this afternoon so he will try dropping by with John tomorrow to finish off.
30/11/2004 - Amanda orders the i-strip, we get 2 meters of SAP7 delivered by Wholesale Quarry Products & Landscape Supplies as the guys at Bark 'n Firewood Bin were way too busy to get stuff to us today (and given we've got the council inspector coming tomorrow, we need the stuff today. The whole thing hasn't been helped by my truck being out of action after failing it's warrant for a leaking pro-something valve on the rear brakes, on the upside (and ignoring that I should have had the truck back yesterday but the courier had a flat tyre and didn't get the parts to the garage in time, and when he did arrive, they were the wrong parts...) it does mean that we get all 2 meters delivered in one go and it saves me 4 trips to Albany! I've got another busy tiring evening ahead...
The guys started putting up the Gib today, and from past experience I know that it's all going to come together VERY quickly from here on in. We've got to try and find a new sparkie in case Gerald can't keep helping us out (he's been very good thus far given he works a full day before he gets here in the afternoons to drill holes and run cable!)
01/12/2004 - Will have to search our collective memories for what happened...I do recall that the boys stayed much later today and, while I was sent out to batt the walls as soon as I arrived home, they were gibbing furiously. We had a feed of good ol' fish and chips (when I say we I mean everyone but Rob, as I was madly trying to finish my batting before my appointment I had that evening - fortunately I arrived only 3 minutes late after grabbing a handful of chips on the way out the door...

04/12/2004 - Today the boys and I filled in the middle of the trench we dug last weekend, Max and Hadley had a good time finding the biggest hunks of clay and throwing them in the wheelbarrow for me to place in the trench. A bit more SAP 7 to fill the gaps between the clay, a sprinkle of topsoil and then we did our best to fit the jigsaw of grass sods and stomped them down.
Amanda spent the evening flicks through the Kitchen Trends magazines and I updated last weeks page and a bit of this week (still need to catchup on a few days but hey).
05/12/2004 - We had some friends over for lunch and then my parents visited, so - while we didn't actually get much done in the way of renovations, but we did get to show our guests the plans for the house and kitchen, and of course I spent some time catching up on these logs :)
After dinner, Amanda and I headed out into the schizophrenic Auckland weather to sort through the discarded wood for the original skirting board, architrave and random window surrounds to save (we hope) on a bit of the folding stuff by recycling (see how environmentally aware we are?) I also packed up my 4 bikes (yes I know, a consolidation and resale is on the cards) and took them down to my parents place since they're just getting in the way up here. Now, for an early night.
